Probes & Electrodes
Band Electrode
The new NanoFlex platinum Caviar™ is a multi-array microelectrode which utilizes the proprietary CAVity ARray architecture. This technology provides unrivalled performance in terms of mass transport, signal to noise ratios and rapid electrode kinetics and can offer new insights into electrochemical processes.
Caviar™ electrodes are fabricated on silicon using a range of thin film deposition and lithographic techniques. Their designs are based on the latest thinking in electrochemical research to provide the highest performance in a range of applications which include:
• Electrochemical research
• Biochemical sensor development
• Chemical sensor development
• Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy

SECM Probes
A new range of ultra microelectrodes (UME’s) have been specifically designed for use with the SECM370 Scanning Electrochemical Microscope System. Special attention has been paid to their design to ensure their robustness in everyday use and the fabrication methods are closely controlled to produce a minimum diameter of glass at the probe tip. Platinum electrodes with dimensions of 10μm, 15μm and 25μm are now available.
Probes for Localised Electrochemistry
We manufacture a range of dedicated probes for use in our scanning probe applications.
Unmodified Screen Printed Carbon Electrode
Also available for the Uniscan range of potentiostats is a SPCE for sensor development applications.
The sensors comprise a standard three electrode configuration with a carbon working and counter electrode and an Ag/AgCl reference electrode. These base sensors are available in multiples of 25, 50 or more, with a separately available screened sensor connector for easy connection to a Uniscan potentiostat.
Ceramic Patterned Electrodes
Patterned electrodes offer a complete three-electrode cell on a single surface. Available in either gold or platinum, the working electrode is a 2.0 mm OD disk surrounded by a large counter electrode. The traces which connect the electrodes to the edge card connector are insulated with a chemically resistant layer of (clear) ceramic. The surface of a screen printed electrode is not nearly as pristine as more traditional electrodes fashioned from pure metal rods or sheets.
