Shallow µTriCell™ system
In scanning probe electrochemistry a constant-height area scan, where the probe remains at a fixed vertical position above the sample, is not ideally suited to a non-flat sample. To overcome this Uniscan Instruments have developed a constant-distance related technique where the probe is able to track the surface topology of a sample.
Using the OSP370 - SECM370 topographical relief capability, the Shallow µTriCell™ facilitates these experiments with a low profile sample holder that allows greater optical access to the sample surface.
The Shallow µTriCell™ mounts conveniently onto the M370 optical table or into a baseplate with a standard optical grid. It incorporates a unique levelling device to adjust the position of a sample without moving or adjusting the scanning head.
The Shallow µTriCell™ for the M370 Scanning Electrochemical Workstation can be used in a variety of practical applications including :-
- corrosion monitoring
- development of electrochemical sensors
- screening of fuel cell materials.
The Shallow µTriCell™ is supplied as a complete kit consisting of the main µTriCell body, the 32mm blanks and area reducing blanks, o-rings and connection leads. The Shallow µTriCell™ also includes reference electrodes and counter electrode. Replacement spares and consumables for the cell are available.
The Shallow µTriCell™ has the advantage of two universal positioning arms to hold the Counter/Reference electrodes.
The provision of a quartz window in the cell allows the positioning of the probe to be monitored with the VCAM2 zoom-lens video microscope system.
Cell radius 22 mm, cell height 5 mm, cell volume 7.6 mL
